Quote of the day:They say that love conquers all. Maybe,
but *I* haven't lost faith in armored
divisions with awesome firepower coupled
with total air and naval superiority.

Headaches
Just as I thought I finally had everything together and settled for the Reunion in June-July, I already have a couple of complaints. After giving almost 3years to everyone involved to help plan, make suggestions, etc! 3 fucking years!
I have been collecting pictures and still don't have all of the family yet. I suggested on our website that if I ever get the collection I asked for, I would put the pics on a slideshow onto a dvd and sell it for $5. Of course, I was told that was unreasonable, even if it takes hours to get the damn things scanned, took me from 1pm to 10pm yesterday to scan in and edit 53 pictures, my time is not nearly that valuable especially as the cds themselves cost pennies. The time and headache alone are worth more than that. Especially as it is like pulling teeth to get the original photos themselves, as evidenced by the fact I still haven't gotten what I asked for. Not only that, when you buy the damn cds in bulk you get a few duds. I'm only gonna charge money for the in hopes of using it to reserve a better place next time, especially as some are hoping to do it out of town, without directly asking for money. I mean, come on, I asked for money last time, sort of and barely got $300.
Of course that wasn't the main complaint, no the main one was that I was gonna ask for $20 to $30 per person for the food we will be bbq'ing. As in, the meat only. I haven't calculated the actual cost yet, but that's for all 5 meals. Come on, at $20 per, that's $5 at each meal, the cost of one at a fast food restaurant. I was gonna overlook the fact that it would cost me, personally, more than that, but I think I'm gonna be pissy over that. It was suggested that She could organize a meal for work, for 50 co-workers by buying in bulk 'the right way'. I think that she forgets that she lives in the city, where things like that are available not to mention cheaper, and when you do things for work, companies allow you to buy in bulk. So I, oh so politely, suggested if she could do better then to help me do so. And, I do mean it. None of us work in restaraunts anymore, so I don't think I'll be able to buy bulk that way this time. We'll see if she's offended by the suggestion that she help me save money, or thinks I was being a smartass. I am now, but wasn't in the reply e-mail. I mean come on, if it's possible, I'm all for it. I'm just offended that she seems pissed that I would ask for more money than was necessary. When you go on vacation and spend, say a family of 4, $80 on 5 full meals, you know you got off cheap. Just pisses me off. She could have just suggested what I could do to reduce the price instead of just assuming I was taking everyone to the cleaners. I could have suggested my first thought, which was even if you weren't camping you bring your own damn food to bbq with. I was only trying to make it easier. Jeesh!
There...ranting is done. I'm not being unreasonable, am I? |

New Baby!
Dustyn Maxwell was born to littlest sister and hubby on Jan 5. I was told the numbers, but couldn't get them written down fast enough. I love the internet! If it weren't for that, we wouldn't have pics for a very long time! Seeing as how they're in NE.
