Here goes for my first ever and not last Author Review! Yeah!I love Ann Rice. She is awesome. I have a great imagination, it just needs prodding. It does not come up with things on it's own. Under her careful tutelage I have learned that vampires are sexy. Yeah, I said it. Vampires don't have sex, but this woman can still make me feel as if I have a chance with one of these characters. Yeah, my imagination is great! I have most of the vampire novels. I have read each one several times. Side note: I can read any book once, pick it up again years later and remember the whole damn thing. I hate my memory sometimes. That said, this is the reason I love her as a writer. I can still be caught up knowing exactly what happens next.
You have not exercised your imagination enough unless you have read one of her, let's call them 'Beauty', books. It was not at all what I thought it would be. I am so not into that stuff it's not funny. Yes, I have read the first one, still have it, still read it occasionally. I am also looking forward to getting a hold of the next one. Warning: These books are not for the squeamish. They are not for, shall we say, 'prudes'. (Ok, yeah I am one.) If you refuse to watch porn with your other, look down on them for their playboys do not read because I said you should. I do not want the blame for your choice. P.S. (when they signed that paper they never said they wouldn't look) (i may also get brave enough to voice my opinions on porn too)
She has books other than the vampires. I have read a few of them. Ramses the Damned was awesome. I 'saw' him so clearly, I wanted him at home with me. (fantasy can be good you know) Then there is Servant of the Bones. I can see those ancient places very clearly. A bit graphic, for anyone who wants to(should) monitor their young one's reading. Kind of like the racy romance novels, they have that 'special' part in the book no one younger than 18 should read.
I love nothing more than to occasionally 'lose' myself in, what I consider to be, a very good book. I have been reading since I was 4. I read fast too. My husband was being really sweet one day. He knows me. He brought me not one, but two of the Ann Rice books I did not have. He gets home around 8pm ish. I finished them both by 4am. Yeah, I cannot put down a good book I have read several times, let alone one I haven't read yet.Where is my new book. Zooba you are letting me down. 5 to 9 business days. Emailed that to me the day after they posted my book was in the mail. I figure by friday. It's gonna be a trashy romance this time. Got my Terry Brooks/Shannara fix last month. I am jonesing for a new book. I reread all 10 books I kept forgetting to return to the library, most of my dragon riders books, some of my ann rice last week. Yeah, I read three books in a day, during my kids naps, in the morning before husband goes to work, after kids go to bed, in between supporting my 'surfing' habits. I am getting bored. To the evil Final Fantasy Makers: make me another one I can play without having to pay for playing after I invested $100 for your playstation version. Hey I'm not stupid. I'm gonna find me a new RPG. So there.
