Quote of the day:They say that love conquers all. Maybe,
but *I* haven't lost faith in armored
divisions with awesome firepower coupled
with total air and naval superiority.

Weekend Randomness
Ok, it's not really the weekend. But I've been on a little hiatus doing my holding pattern thing. Got the HP book over the weekend, read it, reread the 3 preceding it and reread that one again. In waiting for my bead stuff order, reread quite a few of my 'already reread many, many times' books. I was also waiting for my new Zooba book. It's here today. I'm debating on waiting to read it until I have all 3 of the series. It's the first of the High Druid of Shannara books in the Shannara Series. I think there are only 2 more. Tanequil is next and then another one. Today's book is High Druid of Shannara: Jarka Ruus by Terry Brooks. Ya'll should know by know he's a great author. I would still like to get ahold of the other series The Magic Kingdom of Landover. So, my book reading continues.
Got my bead stuff after a week of waiting. The site I ordered from does UPS or fedex or usps. USPS is notoriously unreliable for correct timing deliveries. UPS usually has 3 day ground as the general method. Not so for this site. It's S&H was for 2-11 days at ONE rate. I didn't like that. They also offered a variety of fed-ex, but I've never dealt with them before. Nor have I ever seen a Fed Ex truck (or whatever they use) around my area. As they don't give a comparison anywhere, no real idea which is cheaper. I can't believe UPS took so long. UGH! Not their fault really, there was no option for 3 day, 2 day, next day so I got what I asked for. Now I have a series of sets to make. I was waiting for a certain type of clasp for the bracelet of the set I'm going to (when I remember) send to my sister, her birthday is the 26th. No littlest...it's not for you. She called me over the weekend though. Her son is so big! Not fat big, just tall big. When I saw him over Christmas he was as big as my 2yr old, Steven. Steven turned 2 on Dec 15, and Brandon turned 1 this past Feb. His daddy is rather tall, so I guess that's where he gets it. He has what docs call 'lazy eye'. Apparently it's genetic, most likely, with the possibility that it's not. I looked it up on webmd and there are 2 different medical terms that are commonly called this. At first they thought it wasn't hereditary, as my sister didn't know that my mom and uncle had it. As does my half brother. Brandon has had this since he was born, apparantly his pediatrician didn't believe my sister. Impossible. I swear, some people are morons! Just because you've never seen it that young does not mean it's not possible, just rare. She's gonna take pics of him so the doc will believe her this time. Good thing first time mommies take lots of pictures! They have to do an MRI to see what exactly is causing it. Could be something with the nerves (forgot what she said) or eye muscles (my opinion, not hers). Then he'll have surgery to correct it. Apparantly they would like to do it this young, as his brain is still developing at a rapid rate, thus ensuring his neurons(?) make the right connections now, versus later when the brain slows down that part a bit. By the age of 2, most of the connections have been made and are, for the most part, permanent. This will ensure good vision. The thing with it is, that it's genetic AND it can come back. AND it can choose to not show up until the age of 3. Mikel doesn't and Steven, we'll see. I think I know which one of those terms it may be. One of the ways to correct it, if it's not noticeable other than to an optometrist is to use prisms in corrective lenses. I have prisms in mine as my outer eye muscles are a little too long causing the inner eye muscles to work harder to turn my eyes to the straight position. Thus the cause of most of my headaches is gone. I need to go back, my lenses are scratched all to hell.
On to the cartoons. Saturday was Power Rangers from HELL! 3 hours of them. I missed my favorite abcfamily ones. Dragon booster, witch, digimon. It did enable me to see Shaman King, which increasingly fascinates me. I missed the new American Dragon, not sure if they just did reruns on Disney channel. I watched Avatar, but I think Nickelodeon was rerunning those too. They show 3 or 4 on both Saturday and Sunday in no particular order, so I have to be paying attention to which episode it says it is for that. The storyline gets jumbled, but the episodes are still good themselves. Teen Titans finished up their Raven story. I almost missed it. It was pretty cool. Reading the new HP book caused me to ignore most of the rest. I still stopped reading for the new Inuyasha. That's ok, they'll be on tomorrow night. Samurai Champloo has really awesome fight scenes and a nonsensical storyline, but I like it. I still can't figure out Paranioa Agent, but I'll watch it too. I tell ya, if you know where to look, you can find all kinds of great cartoons. I ran across someone's blog saying they missed seeing their favorite Sat. morning cartoons. They are re-airing and re-making several old cartoons. The ninja turtles are on fox kids. I think the website is 4kids.tv.com. ABCfamily shows Power Rangers from hell. If you like that sort of crappy ass 'cartoon'. Cartoon network also shows a variety of old cartoons. They have tom and jerry almost every morning. New and old scooby doo. New pokemon series/episodes are going to be on by the end of the month. I think it'll be on miguzi. They make weird names for sets of cartoons on certain times of each day. It might be toonami though, that set hasn't been on for a while, but that's about the right time of day for it. I want to see what they'll do for the next dragonball series. The first ones were crappy, now they are better drawn with still crazy dialogue. Maybe I'm into most of the cartoons I like because of the art. Yes, there is a lot of art in cartoons. Somebody has to draw it! Even if they use a computer to do it, they still have to tell it what to do.
Kids are going to sleep over at aunt little sister's saturday. They haven't seen little Peyton yet. That ought to be interesting. I'll probably send them over with the Leap Frog videos. I wish they had one introducing numbers, they only do math right now. I don't think 4yr.s are going to understand math until they atleast understand how numbers work. LMAO! Wow, a Saturday night alone, no kids. The possibilities!
Now we will welcome back littlest sister, with the admonishment to make an ACTUAL comment other than MEOW please. :) Blogs Gone Wild has new stuff on it, ready made templates that are awesome, go look! I said so, that's why. ;) Well, I think that's it. Or in the words of the RA, I've lost my mind. (that one was pretty easy too.) Have fun ya'll, and no you can't borrow my HP book, my books never leave my house!
P.S. If this didn't make sense to you, you need to remember, I warned you it was gonna be random! My brain doesn't think in any kind of order, so I can't really write in any sort of order. (That and the 3 or 4 separate trains of thought going on at any given time. It isn't always easy to keep track of what I've already said or haven't said.) |
